I bought the car a year a go, i started to notice some cracks ok the top dashboard, by the instrument cluster, i big crack by the top air bag system. The cracks are getting bigger, im afraid this is not safe in case of traffic accident.

Two dashboard cracks on 2008 chevrolet tahoe, 1 of which is directly going to passenger side airbag compartment. If this airbag is to be deployed, it will send the pieces of this dash flying throughout the vehicle. This is a well known issue and there are thousands of these identical cracks on these generation vehicles with no support from gm. This is a safety issue and needs to be recalled.

Takata recall - i have been checking on this for a year and a remedy is still not available. I was involved in an accident april 10 2017 and the tahoe sustained significant front and rear damage while stationary. I was hit from behind by a large truck and was then pushed into the car in front of me. No airbags deployed.

Cracks were noticed upon entering vehicle after it being parked in front of home overnight. The cracked dashboard is a safety concern in that shards of the plastic may break off during an accident and/or during deployment of the airbags, impaling the passengers.
