I purchased a used tahoe in august 2014 with 42k miles on it. At the time of purchase the dash above the passenger side airbag had a small crack, approx 1.5 inches. Since then the crack spread to about 2 inches and i have noticed a crack on the driver side dash as well. The driver side crack started small but extends about 4 inches. My dashboard has cracked over the instrument panel. I have had it replaced, but i'm worried it will happen again. I have spoke to people that have had theirs replaced, but had the new one crack too. I feel if i were to ever get into an accident shards of flimsy plastic will be blown on me.

We're concerned that a front end impact accident could cause a piece to shear off and cause damage to either the airbags or the passangers that they are supposed to protect.
